This plan features a low connection fee for answered outgoing calls, great air-time and data transfer rates and free incoming calls while in Italy. There is an 80 cent daily line fee to maintain these rates for the duration of your contract. The one time processing fee for a phone and SIM card package is $39.90 or just $17.50 for a SIM card only. (See ‘Details’ for more on these options) Shipping is free within the continental US for orders made at least 14 days in advance. The calls you make while you are abroad are automatically charged to the credit/bank card you provide.
US VIRTUAL NUMBER DETAILS:
In addition to your overseas phone number, PicCell Wireless will give you a local U.S. phone number (you can choose the area code based on availability). With this feature you can give friends and family the ability to contact you from the US without paying international calling rates. Calls to this U.S. number are forwarded to your international phone abroad and callers from the US will only pay for the domestic call based on their local phone service provider’s plan. When using the Virtual Number callers from the US will be saving by not paying international calling rates; however you will be charged for the incoming call (see “Rates” for details on incoming Virtual Number calls).
With this flexible dual service, PicCell Wireless gives you the option to choose from two methods of receiving phone calls from people in the US while overseas:
If someone calls your international PicCell Wireless number directly, you will not pay for the incoming call while in your home service area*. However, the caller from the US will be paying international calling rates based on their provider’s plan.
If someone in the U.S. calls your US Virtual Number, the caller will only pay domestic calling rates. However, you will be charged for these incoming calls.
For example, if you live in New York City and travel to Italy, you can choose a US Virtual Number with a 646 area code. Your contacts in NYC will be able to call your 646 area code US Virtual Number and reach you directly in Italy, on your Italy phone, paying only the price of a local call. You will be charged the low rate of $0.39/min. for incoming US Virtual Number calls you receive in Italy, your home service area in this case*.
How to Use Your US Virtual Number
Get a local US Virtual Number. Give it to all your friends and family in the US, providing an economical and convenient way to call you while you're abroad.
(optional) Keep your US cell phone or fixed phone number. Simply contact your existing service provider to forward calls to your US Virtual Number.**
* Calls received while outside of your home service area will be subject to roaming rates. See rate plan for details. US Virtual Numbers that are not used within 45 days will be de-activated.
** Your existing service provider may charge additional fees to forward calls to another US number.
Please read all of the provided information regarding the rates and details of this package carefully by selecting subsections from the menu on the left or by clicking ‘NEXT PAGE’, then click ‘SELECT & CONTINUE’. The next step will be selecting the type of equipment you wish to take with you on your travels.
Receiving Rental Items: ITALY
After selecting a calling plan, you will choose the rental option that is right for you. A rental SIM card is always included in a PicCell Wireless service package.
Rental Options: 1. Buy a phone and rent a SIM card. We offer low prices and a selection of the hottest new unlocked phones bundled with a SIM card rental. You can keep the phone for future use abroad, or at home.
2. Rent a phone and SIM card. When convenience is a must, pick a phone and SIM card rental.
3. Rent a SIM card only. If you love your phone, and it’s an unlocked, GSM wireless phone, you can just rent a SIM card.*
We recommend that you have your rental item(s) shipped to you before leaving home. Round trip shipping within the continental U.S. is included in the processing fee for orders made at least 14 days in advance. If you are already abroad, we can still provide you with wireless service. Simply make your order available at one of our convenient pick-up locations or ship the rental items to your hotel or university abroad.
*Please note: For SIM card only contracts, it is your responsibility to provide an unlocked GSM wireless phone. Be sure to contact the issuing network of your phone to be sure the phone is unlocked.
Returing Rental Items: ITALY
Keep the rental items until you have returned to the U.S. Return shipping from inside the Continental U.S. is included in the order by using the provided return label. If you are not a U.S. resident, or not planning on returning the phone from the Continental U.S. simply contact us to make return arrangements. Rental items returned from outside of the U.S. must be paid for, in full, by the shipper (including taxes, tariffs, etc). Be sure to pad and securely package fragile rental items. Rental items must be post marked for return within 10 days of the proscribed contract return date to avoid late fees.
Billing: ITALY
Billing occurs monthly for previous use. Funds are automatically debited from the credit/bank card provided. Billing dates vary by home service area. A billing reminder will be emailed at least 48 hours before your card is debited. An account summary, including billing details, is available to view via your My PicCell online account.
Please remember that US Virtual Number calls are billed separately from other phone use.
Calling Cards: ITALY
We do not endorse or recommend the use of calling cards with PicCell Wireless phones. The use of calling cards with your PicCell Wireless phone may be subject to additional calling rates that are not stated on the calling card or by its provider. We cannot guarantee the stated rates of these cards. For these reasons, PicCell Wireless claims no responsibility for any losses incurred by the use of calling cards.
When outside of your home service area, it may be advisable to use calling cards, from landlines only (not with your PicCell Wireless phone), to avoid excessive roaming charges.
Roaming Details: ITALY
What is Roaming? Roaming charges are incurred when a cell phone is used outside of the specific rental phone package's home service area. Your wireless device will work in hundreds of countries around the world; however, the rates and connection fees are determined and charged by the particular Host Operator/Network Provider. These Networks automatically pick up your cell phone's signal and handle at least part of every call you make or receive in the country in which you are traveling.
When you are roaming, your temporary Host Operator will not send you a separate bill. Rather, they will charge PicCell Wireless directly for all your phone traffic, and PicCell Wireless will in turn, bill you directly for all those charges at the end of your billing cycle. The amounts billed by PicCell to its customers will not be the same as the amounts imposed by the temporary Host Operator and routinely will include a markup by PicCell of the amount charged by the temporary Host Operator to PicCell. You will incur roaming charges for all incoming calls, outgoing calls, GPRS, outgoing SMS or text messages and MMS (multi-media service) made outside of the home service area. These charges may also apply to calls that are diverted to your voice mail (even if your phone is off). Please contact PicCell Wireless if you need assistance turning your voice mail diverts off.
How can I avoid high Roaming Charges?
Please note that roaming charges can be very costly. When traveling outside of your cell phone package's home service area, roaming charges can be avoided by renting a supplemental SIM card (where available) for your additional destination country, gaining you access to lower PicCell rates for calls to the U.S. and incoming calls.
If you are traveling to multiply countries we recommend renting multiple SIM cards. Please watch the demo for more details.
If you do not wish to rent a local SIM card, high roaming rates from calling can be avoided by opting to send and receive SMS messages rather than incoming and outgoing phone calls. Please note that SMS messages are also charged at a higher roaming rate, but are usually much less costly in comparison to making or receiving calls.

Renters Insurance: ITALY
PicCell Wireless offers optional insurance for lost/stolen/broken items including phones, SIM cards, and accessories such as battery chargers. The insurance costs less than $5 per month. Click here to see replacement costs with and without the optional insurance.
Insurance may be added after the contract has become active, by phone or contacting PicCell Wireless online; in this case, activation of coverage and daily insurance fees will be delayed 10 days from the request date.
The insurance is only valid for the lost/stolen hardware; it does not cover fraudulent traffic (calls) incurred after item(s) are lost or stolen. All packages include insurance for proper use (Click here to see Proper Use Damage Insurance). If the item(s) are not returned within 30 days of the return date, any of the item(s) are missing upon receipt, or lost/stolen item(s) are not properly reported (Click here to see "Lost Stolen Broken"), the optional insurance coverage will become void.
Proper Damage: ITALY
Normal wear and naturally occurring malfunctions are covered under Proper Use Damage Insurance . You are only responsible for damages due to improper use. Water damaged or cracked/crushed rental items are not covered by Proper Use Damage Insurance.
Tips for proper use:
Three incorrect PIN entries will lock your SIM card. If this occurs, enter the eight-digit PUK (Pin Unlock Code) to unlock it. Seven incorrect PUK entries will completely block your SIM card, and you will need to contact us for further assistance. Please be careful when entering these codes as there is a $50 fee for blocked SIM cards.
Please do not excessively charge your phone. Overcharging diminishes the battery life.
Try to avoid using your phone while charging. This disturbs the charging process and damages the phone and battery. During the charging process, only use the phone for emergencies.
Please do not leave charger plugged in for extended periods of time. It may overheat, causing it to malfunction.
Please do not force the charger into the phone. If you are having difficulty, please visit out troubleshooting area to fix the problem contact us for assistance.

items have been lost or stolen be sure to properly report them immediately
(see Lost/Theft) For broken items, we offer customer care by phone, via your
My PicCell account or contact us at broken@piccellwireless.com If you
require a replacement rental item, we can ship it to your location, usually
within 2 business days, or have the item available at a pick up location.
Loss/Theft: ITALY
If your phone or SIM card is lost or stolen please report the loss immediately in order
to block further outgoing calls on your phone by going to the 'My PicCell' section of this
site and complete a Lost/Stolen report. Be sure to do so promptly, as clients are responsible
for all phone use until a report is properly completed. Lost/Stolen reports can also be completed
with a customer service representative during regular office hours. After blocking the phone, it is wise to check email frequently to be sure a confirmation from PicCell Wireless customer care has been received. Leaving a voice message will not
block your phone nor will sending an email. You will then have to pay the replacement fee for the
lost/stolen phone (according to the PicCell Wireless price list), a SIM deactivation/reactivation
fee and for any shipping costs incurred. We will then issue you another phone with the same phone number.
In most cases, clients lose only their phone and SIM card. If you have also lost your charger, be sure to select 'battery charger'
from the menu of equipment, when creating the lost report. If as a result of the loss/theft of your rental items,
thecredit/bank card on file with us is also reported lost or stolen with your bank, please remember to
immediately provide us with new or updated credit/bank card information.

The amounts billed by PicCell to its customers will not be the same as the amounts imposed by the temporary Host Operator and routinely will include a markup by PicCell of the amount charged by the temporary Host Operator to PicCell. You will incur roaming charges for all incoming calls, outgoing calls, GPRS, outgoing SMS or text messages and MMS (multi-media service) made outside of the home service area. These charges may also apply to calls that are diverted to your voice mail (even if your phone is off). Please contact PicCell Wireless if you need assistance turning your voice mail diverts off.
How can I avoid high Roaming Charges?
Please note that roaming charges can be very costly. When traveling outside of your cell phone package's home service area, roaming charges can be avoided by renting a supplemental SIM card (where available) for your additional destination country, gaining you access to lower PicCell rates for calls to the U.S. and incoming calls.
If you are traveling to multiply countries we recommend renting multiple SIM cards. Please watch the demo for more details.
If you do not wish to rent a local SIM card, high roaming rates from calling can be avoided by opting to send and receive SMS messages rather than incoming and outgoing phone calls. Please note that SMS messages are also charged at a higher roaming rate, but are usually much less costly in comparison to making or receiving calls.

Insurance Renters Insurance
PicCell Wireless offers optional insurance for lost/stolen/broken items including phones, SIM cards, and accessories such as battery chargers. The insurance costs less than $5 per month. Click here to see replacement costs with and without the optional insurance.
Insurance may be added after the contract has become active, by phone or contacting PicCell Wireless online; in this case, activation of coverage and daily insurance fees will be delayed 10 days from the request date.
The insurance is only valid for the lost/stolen hardware; it does not cover fraudulent traffic (calls) incurred after item(s) are lost or stolen. All packages include insurance for proper use (Click here to see Proper Use Damage Insurance). If the item(s) are not returned within 30 days of the return date, any of the item(s) are missing upon receipt, or lost/stolen item(s) are not properly reported (Click here to see "Lost Stolen Broken"), the optional insurance coverage will become void.
Proper Damage
Normal wear and naturally occurring malfunctions are covered under Proper Use Damage Insurance . You are only responsible for damages due to improper use. Water damaged or cracked/crushed rental items are not covered by Proper Use Damage Insurance.
Tips for proper use:
Three incorrect PIN entries will lock your SIM card. If this occurs, enter the eight-digit PUK (Pin Unlock Code) to unlock it. Seven incorrect PUK entries will completely block your SIM card, and you will need to contact us for further assistance. Please be careful when entering these codes as there is a $50 fee for blocked SIM cards.
Please do not excessively charge your phone. Overcharging diminishes the battery life.
Try to avoid using your phone while charging. This disturbs the charging process and damages the phone and battery. During the charging process, only use the phone for emergencies.
Please do not leave charger plugged in for extended periods of time. It may overheat, causing it to malfunction.
Please do not force the charger into the phone. If you are having difficulty, please visit out troubleshooting area to fix the problem contact us for assistance.

Loss/Theft/Damage Summary
If a rental item is lost, stolen or broken, we are here to assist you. If
items have been lost or stolen be sure to properly report them immediately
(see Lost/Theft) For broken items, we offer customer care by phone, via your
My PicCell account or contact us at broken@piccellwireless.com If you
require a replacement rental item, we can ship it to your location, usually
within 2 business days, or have the item available at a pick up location.
Loss/Theft
If your phone or SIM card is lost or stolen please report the loss immediately in order
to block further outgoing calls on your phone by going to the 'My PicCell' section of this
site and complete a Lost/Stolen report. Be sure to do so promptly, as clients are responsible
for all phone use until a report is properly completed. Lost/Stolen reports can also be completed
with a customer service representative during regular office hours. After blocking the phone, it is wise to check email frequently to be sure a confirmation from PicCell Wireless customer care has been received. Leaving a voice message will not
block your phone nor will sending an email. You will then have to pay the replacement fee for the
lost/stolen phone (according to the PicCell Wireless price list), a SIM deactivation/reactivation
fee and for any shipping costs incurred. We will then issue you another phone with the same phone number.
In most cases, clients lose only their phone and SIM card. If you have also lost your charger, be sure to select 'battery charger'
from the menu of equipment, when creating the lost report. If as a result of the loss/theft of your rental items,
thecredit/bank card on file with us is also reported lost or stolen with your bank, please remember to
immediately provide us with new or updated credit/bank card information.
